Truancy Services

This page is designed to assist local school districts with their Truancy needs.  The following information is provided in the Huron County Truancy Forms folder:

- Huron County Public Schools Truancy Protocols
- Student/Parent Attendance Agreement
- Huron County Attendance Officer Service Request Form
- Huron County Truancy/Educational Neglect Referral Form - Form to be completed only after initial attempts at Early Intervention have been unsuccessful.

Michigan General School Law states that "the child's parent, guardian, or other
person in this state having control and charge of the child shall send the child to a
public school during the entire school year from the age of 6 to the child's
eighteenth birthday. The child's attendance shall be continuous and consecutive
for the school year fixed by the school district in which the child is enrolled."
